When news first broke that UFC heavyweight champion, Brock Lesnar, had pulled out from his UFC 106 bout with undefeated warrior, Shane Carwin, the ugly being known as disgust reared it’s repulsive face from the murky waters of blind hatred.

The reason Lesnar pulled out from the fight is a slippery-slope that many fighters have been caught on the positive and negative sides of. The reason being is that Lesnar has been fighting an illness that has rendered him unable to train for the past three-and-a-half weeks.

Now some “hardcore” fans and fighters would say that, “Only a (expletive) would pull out of a fight.” But how could you blame a guy for wanting to be 100 percent healthy and fully trained for his second title defense.

Via his twitter account, Carwin says the fight has been postponed until Jan. 2nd.

Not only does this postponement make this title fight a much more competitive match-up, but it also gives the UFC’s “year-end” show a much needed boost if it’s deemed to be the most exciting card of the year.

Here’s a look at the UFC 108 card as it stands if all of the rumored fights come to fruition.

Champ Brock Lesnar vs. Shane Carwin (for heavyweight title)

Champ Anderson Silva vs. Vitor Belfort (for middleweight title or possibly a catchweight fight)

Rashad Evans vs. Thiago Silva

Junior Dos Santos vs. Gabriel Gonzaga

Carlos Condit vs. Paul Daley

Tyson Griffin vs. Jim Miller

Martin Kampmann vs. Rory Markham

Joe Lauzon vs. Sam Stout

Dan Lauzon vs. Cole Miller

Ryan Jensen vs. Mark Munoz

Jake Ellenberger vs. Mike Pyle

The top three fights could easily headline most pay-per-views, and Dos Santos vs. Gonzaga could easily headline a UFC event that would air live on Spike T.V.

The only problem that may arise is the relatively weak card that UFC 106 now possesses. If Dana White and Joe Silva can quickly throw together an exciting fight for the card, Lesnar’s recent sickness may be a huge blessing to the UFC executives and fans alike.
